TUF Gaming laptops give you a lot of graphics power for the money, and many owners play on them for hours a day. That workload shows up as clogged fans, tired thermal paste, worn charging sockets and the occasional graphics chip failure. We fix all of these, including board-level repairs on the GPU and power circuits.
Common faults we fix
- Overheating and throttling – dust-packed heatsinks and dried thermal paste make games stutter and fans roar; a full clean and re-paste usually restores performance.
- Noisy or failed fans – grinding, rattling or a fan error at start-up; we replace fans and check the heat pipes.
- GPU faults – artefacts, black screens under load or the dedicated GPU disappearing from Device Manager; we diagnose at board level.
- Screen damage – cracked high refresh rate panels, lines, or backlight failure.
- Keyboard faults – dead keys, WASD wear, or RGB backlights that have stopped working.
- Not charging or no power – a loose charging socket, failed charger or damaged power circuitry. See our DC power jack repair page.
- Slow or failing storage – SSD replacement and upgrades, with your data moved across.
Models we repair
- TUF Gaming A15 and F15 (AMD and Intel 15.6-inch models)
- TUF Gaming A16 and F16 (16-inch models)
- TUF Gaming A14 and the larger A17 and F17
- Older models: TUF Dash F15 and the earlier FX504 and FX505 – see our older Asus models page
The letter tells you the processor: A models use AMD Ryzen chips, F models use Intel. Both share similar cooling layouts, so the same faults turn up across the range.
Why heat matters on a gaming laptop
A gaming laptop running hot is not just noisy. Over months, high temperatures stress the solder joints under the processor and graphics chip, and that is one of the main causes of the GPU faults we see. If your TUF is shutting down mid-game, or the fans never quieten down even on the desktop, a clean and re-paste is cheap preventive work compared with a graphics repair later.
We also check the fan profile settings and power plan before blaming the hardware, because a Windows or driver update can sometimes change how hard the fans run.
Charging sockets on TUF laptops
Most TUF models use a round barrel charger, and the socket takes a lot of strain if the laptop is used on a lap or a sofa with the cable at an angle. When the socket works loose it can arc and damage the board. If the charging light flickers when you move the cable, get it looked at sooner rather than later.
