The Inspiron has been Dell’s everyday laptop range for years, and there are a lot of them out there. In 2025 Dell retired the Inspiron name for new consumer laptops and moved to simpler names such as Dell 14 Plus and Dell 16 Plus. Whichever name is on yours, we can repair it.
Common faults we fix
- Cracked screens – standard and touch panels, matched to your model and resolution.
- Broken hinges and lids – a frequent fault on 15 and 16-inch models; the hinge mount cracks and the lid wobbles.
- Not charging – a worn USB-C port, a loose barrel jack on older models, or a charging circuit fault. See DC power jack repair.
- Battery faults – short run time, battery warnings or a swollen battery lifting the touchpad.
- Keyboard faults – dead keys and spills. On most Inspirons the keyboard is part of the palm rest.
- Slow or failing storage – SSD replacement and upgrades.
- No power or no display – fault-finding at board level.

Finding your model
Dell’s naming has changed several times, so the easiest way to identify your laptop is the Service Tag: a seven-character code on the label underneath. It tells us the exact screen, battery and keyboard fitted at the factory, which helps us quote accurately and order the right part first time.
2-in-1 models
Inspiron 2-in-1s fold all the way back into tablet mode, so their hinges and touchscreens take extra wear. The touchscreen glass and display are usually a single bonded unit, which means a crack is fixed by replacing the whole screen. If the hinge feels loose, have it looked at early, before it damages the screen cable.
Your data
Most Inspiron and Dell Plus laptops use a removable M.2 SSD, so if the laptop won’t start we can usually copy your files directly. If the drive itself has failed, our in-house laptop data recovery service can help.
