Common dynabook laptop faults
The faults we see most often are cracked or flickering screens, laptops that will not power on or charge, overheating and loud fans, liquid spills, worn keyboards and failing hard drives or SSDs. Gaming and high-performance models add graphics and cooling faults, which is where component-level repair matters most.
Component-level repair
Many repairers replace a whole motherboard when one small part on it has failed. Where they can, our engineers repair the board itself, replacing the failed chip, connector or power circuit, which usually costs less and keeps your laptop on its original board.
How our laptop repair works
Tell us what is wrong and we reply with a quote, usually the same working day. Your laptop reaches us by drop-off, courier or post, we diagnose it and confirm the cost before starting, and most laptops are repaired or upgraded within one to two days. It is then delivered back to you or collected.
Your files
Most repairs do not touch your files. If the drive has failed or Windows needs reinstalling, we can back up or recover your data as part of the job.

A short history of dynabook laptops
dynabook is the current name of Toshiba's laptop business. Toshiba launched the T1100, one of the first mass-market laptops, in 1985, and went on to build the Satellite, Tecra and Portégé ranges. Sharp bought a majority stake in the business in 2018 and renamed it Dynabook in 2019, so today's dynabook laptops are direct descendants of those Toshiba models. Creative IT repairs both.
