Laptop keyboards take more wear than any other part, and they are the first thing hit by a spilt drink. On many modern laptops the keyboard is built into the top case along with the palm rest, which makes replacement more involved than it used to be. We check the keyboard, its cable and the motherboard connection so you only pay for what is needed.
Common faults

- Keys typing the wrong characters, or repeating on their own
- Sticky or crunchy keys after a spill
- Keycaps snapped off or missing
- Keyboard backlight not working
- Whole keyboard dead, while an external USB keyboard works fine
What we do
- Replacing single keycaps and hinge clips where parts are available
- Replacing the full keyboard, or the top case on laptops where it is built in
- Reseating or replacing the keyboard ribbon cable
- Repairing the keyboard connector or circuit on the motherboard
- Cleaning and repairing liquid damage under the keyboard

FAQs
I spilled something on the keyboard. What now?
Turn the laptop off, unplug it and leave it off. Liquid often reaches the motherboard below, so the sooner we see it, the better.
Can you replace just one key?
Often, if a matching keycap and clip can be sourced. If the switch underneath has failed, the keyboard usually needs replacing.
Will I get a UK layout?
Yes, we fit UK-layout keyboards as standard unless you ask for something different.
