ORIGIN PC laptops are custom-configured gaming and workstation machines from a US boutique builder, which can make them tricky to get serviced in the UK. You don’t have to ship it back across the Atlantic: we repair ORIGIN laptops in our London workshop, including faults on the motherboard.
Common faults we fix
- Overheating and shutdowns – high-end CPUs and GPUs in a laptop body need clean heatsinks and fresh thermal paste to run properly.
- Noisy or failed fans – replaced with matching fans for your chassis.
- Screen damage – cracked, flickering or dead high-refresh panels, matched by panel specification.

Finding the right parts
Like many boutique brands, ORIGIN builds its laptops on chassis sourced from specialist laptop manufacturers rather than designing every part itself. Screens, fans, keyboards, batteries and charging ports are often shared with other boutique brands that use the same base design. We identify the underlying chassis from the board and part numbers, which usually makes the right replacement part much easier to source. When the motherboard fails
A replacement motherboard for a custom gaming laptop can be expensive and hard to find, especially for older chassis. That’s why board-level repair matters here. A failed power stage, a shorted capacitor or a damaged charging circuit can often be repaired on the original board, keeping your exact configuration. Our laptop motherboard repair service is carried out in-house, and you get a £45 + VAT assessment and a fixed quote before we start.
Keep your data
Most ORIGIN laptops have removable M.2 SSDs, often more than one. If the laptop won’t boot, we can usually copy your files from the drive directly. If the SSD itself has failed, our laptop data recovery team can help.
